A Doctor in the House

I have been reading this book for quite sometime but has yet to finish it :( I think I have read 3 other books in between. Don't get me wrong, I love the book. How can I not love Tun M's style of writing, straight forward, simple words, backed with facts and he cracked some jokes here and there. Feels like I was listening to him.

I think the book is too bulky and too heavy to carry around. It would ruin my handbag if I were to carry it with me all the time. I wish I can pull out chapter by chapter coz I really want to read them all. Have you read the book? Page by page?Tell me how you did it. Please...

Happeeeeeeyyyyy :)

Yesterday was the height of my cooking and baking experience and I was really happy about it I can't stop grinning to my hubby when he came home last night.

First, one of my best friends (who cooks better than me) baked a bread from scratch! And she said she was inspired by me when I started baking. She (my friend who cooks better than me, I told you right?), was inspired by me! Wow! Never had I thought I would inspire someone like her. Thanks dear. You made my day.

Knowing that my hubby will be home late, I decided to bake 3 types of cookies. One was a new recipe I wanted to try called Blueberry Thumbprint Cookies (but I used wild berries). I also baked Giant M&M Bites for my dear friend and last but not least I baked Dutch Shortcakes for my brother as a present for his birthday tomorrow and for him to munch while preparing for his final.

On top of that, three of my friends reported that they tried the recipes I shared in this blog and they loved it. Well one of them actually innovated a new recipe based on my Chicken Masorma but it's still counted :) Me, sharing a recipe? If someone told me 5 years ago that I would one day be able to cook and bake (at least for the family) I would never believe it.

Growing up, I detest cooking. I love to eat all kinds of food and enjoy travelling around just to feed my craving  but kitchen had never been my favourite place. I had never imagine that some day I will be able to cook, even the day-to-day dishes. We were lucky to have maid to help my mom in the kitchen when were growing up and even when we were in between maids, the most my mom would ask for my help was to clean the prawns or cook the rice. To me cooking was just not my thing. Something I am not good at so why bother spending time learning it.

After I got married, I started to learn how to cook. It started with Brahims of course and all those instant Maggi packets like black pepper and sambal tumis. Only end of last year, when my mom gave me the breadmaker, I found myself beginning to enjoy baking and cooking. I started to look for new recipes to try and some of the dishes actually turned out, not so bad. I guess it's never too late for one to learn how to cook or bake. What you need is just passion for your new hobby. Err, did I say cooking is my new hobby? :)

Christian the lion

Have you seen this video? I don't know why I kept thinking about the lion as I drove to work this morning. The first time I saw it, I cried. But now, whenever I watch this video, I'll smile instead. It makes me feel happy. It's really amazing to see the bond between Christian the lion and the two men who raised him. It makes me feel that there's still hope for world peace :) Even a lion could appreciate the kindness he received from the two men so why can't we human care and appreciate others more? Read here for the full story.

Heartwarming

I've watched so many videos of babies in the womb. Each and every one of them never failed to remind me how my heart fluttered and the wonderful feelings I had when I hold my newborn for the first time. Thanks Fatih for posting this video in your blog. Just like you, I was holding back my tears :) Wonderful.

Bawang Goreng dan Gula

Ni entry nak lepas perasaan. Negative energy. Don't say I did not warn you :)

Last weekend I stayed at home most of the weekend. Keluar petang Sabtu and malam Ahad saja. Biasalah, bila lama dekat rumah, banyak lah encounter dengan bibik. Bila dah banyak berjumpa, mesti adaaaaa je yang jadi.

Sabtu malam tu, after dah kenyang makan nasi ayam, and nak kemas-kemas sikit, perasan yang kat dalam peti sejuk tu ada semut. Eh, macam mana ada semut? Penuh semut dekat botol ubat demam Adam. Hmmm, buang ajelah sebab dah lama pun ubat tu. Pastu mula la belek-belek lagi barang dalam peti ais. Sekali, bila tengok belakang getahpintu fridge tu, penuh semut! So, bermulalah sesi audit peti sejuk. Masa tu dah perasan banyak barang dah tak sejuk. Telur berpelu-peluh. Menandakan perubahan suhu dalam peti tu. So, alih-alihkan barang and nampak lubang yang sepatutnya angin sejuk tu keluar macam dah di blok oleh barang-barang yang tak perlu! Barang-barang yang dah entah berapa kali dah cakap bibik tak perlu simpan dalam firdge. Contoh? Spagheti sauce yang x bukak pun lagi lid dia and botol bawang goreng! Botol tu dahla besar, isi sikit je. Dah geram dah sambil keluarkan barang sambil membebel. Masalahnya ni bukan kali pertama tegur pasal barang dalam peti sejuk. Dah banyak kali dah re-arrange kan barang2 dalam peti tu ikut category. Degil jugak. Main campak suka hati dia aje.

Tengah malam tu, turun bawah sebab rasa nak buat pavlova. Bila buka peti, rasa botol fresh milk, tak sejuk. Rasa botol jam, tak sejuk. Hati dah gundah gelana. Terus tak jadi buat pavlova dan naik atas bawak fresh milk untuk dihabiskan in case peti sejuk rosak.

Kalau peti sejuk rosak, dah barang ke berapa dah rosak sejak bibik kerja dengan kitorang. Dahlah siang tu baru beli rice cooker and iron baru untuk ganti yang dah rosak. Otak mula buat kira-kira. Barang yang dah rosak:
1. Rice cooker - Anggaran RM250-RM350 so katalah RM300.
2. Iron - RM120
3. Electric kettle - RM40
4. Washing machine - RM600 (ok, yang ni dah lama tapi still nak kira).
so, total dah dekat RM1K. Kalau fridge rosak, tambah lagi RM3k. Orang kaya pun boleh jatuh miskin macam ni.

Nasib baik bila bangun pagi, peti dah sejuk balik so hati dah kembali sejuk. Tapi malam Ahad, bila balik from Giant, nak masukkan ice-cream dekat freezer, guess what I found deeeep inside the freezer drawer. Bawang goreng! Geramnya masa tu tak terkata. Rasa nak campak je botol bawang goreng tu biar pecah. Tapi sabarkan diri. Geram sebab rasa ada usaha to outsmart me di situ. Dah kata jangan masuk dalam fridge dia masukkan dalam freezer. Urggghhh!!!

Tapi beberapa minit lepas tu, bila tanya dia eh, mana granulated sugar?
"Laaaaa, kenapa kamu campur. Kan jenis lain sebab tu saya asingkan bekas lain-lain"
"Samalaa puan! Saya yang gunting plastiknya"
"Tak sama, saya yang beli, saya tahulah"
"Samaaaaa, Puan mana liat (lihat)! Saya yang gunting plastiknya. Samaaa"
"TAK SAMALAH!" masa tu dah tak tahan. Habis semua principle Dale Carnegie buang ke laut. Geram tau tak!!!!!!!!!

Memanglah gula tu sama asasnya. Kalau guna 1 teaspoon memanglah tak rasa sangat bezanya. Tapi kalau pakai 4 CUPS?! Mestilah jadi tawar or lebih manis kalau pakai gula yang salah! Even kalau tengok saiz dia though sekali pandang macam sama, boleh nampak beza dia. Bila tunjuk kat bibik suruh tengok, dia dah tak nak tengok dah.

Bukanlah masalah gula atau bawang sangat sebenarnya. Masalahnya ialah nak tunjuk pandai and tak mengaku salah! Apa salahnya, kalau dia cakap, oh, lain ke? Sorry ye. Itu aje!

Ramai yang cakap kalau dah asyik sakit hati kenapa simpan lagi? Hmmmm, dia ok dengan Adam. My friends ada yang dapat worse maid. Nak hantar nursery tak sanggup. And, kalau amik yang baru pun, entah2 lagi teruk dari ni. Yang ni at least lepas ni hopefully dah tak perlu bagitau jangan campurkan gula dalam satu bekas. Hopefully lah kan. Aduhaiiii...  Serba salah. Adakah ini masa yang sesuai untuk guna peribahasa Diluah mati emak, diludah mati bapak? Sekian pengaduan di hari Isnin.

missing my Adik

I was browsing through old pictures. I miss staying in the same house with my sister. I miss having our girly chat before we sleep. I miss our camwhoring session. I miss going to movies with her. I miss sharing chic lit and other story books with her. I miss our coffee session after midnight. I miss cooking Brahims with her. I miss driving to Giant to eat Kuey Teow with her. I miss her boring face when I told her my boring story. I miss our gedik time together. I miss our makeup session together. I miss our gossip hours. I miss our berangan session. I miss having her around. I really miss my Adik :'(

Way back in 2005 after one of our midnight movie session with my girlfriends.

Adik is so far away now. She has been quite busy lately with her internship and all. She's in her final year in medicine. All the on-calls tires her and she doesn't have much time to BBM me as much now. Most of my BBM to her went unreplied. I pray God to give her courage and strength to go through her days as Doktor Muda and passed all her exams with flying colour. So she'll come back and we will be together again. I love you darling!

Vaccination for your child(ren)

A couple of weeks ago, my cousin's 6 months old daughter was hospitalized for diarrhea caused by rotavirus. She was hospitalized for about a week. It was heart breaking to see the drip bandaged to her hand. Last week, a friend to my friend lost her 15 months baby due to diarrhea and rotavirus, again, was the culprit. I was told the virus has creeped into her central nervous system and infected her brain. The baby had diarrhea so the parents brought her to a clinic and was given some medicine. After 2 days her condition did not improve so they brought her to a private hospital and were told the baby was already dehydrated. After 5 days on life support system, she left to heaven.

Both babies did not take extra immunisation apart from those made compulsory by the government. And both could actually be prevented if they have taken the rotavirus vaccine. The first mother was not even aware of the existance of rotavirus vaccine while the second mother thought it was too expensive. It costs about RM600 to RM750 for 3 shots. But the cost for not taking it? More than RM2k for the first case and the life of the baby for the second case.

When Adam was younger, I took the initiative to ask Adam's paed and the doctor in our local clinic for advise on whether we should take the additional vaccines. My favourite book on childcare, "What to Expect" series also listed the vaccines that are made compulsory in developed countries. That was how I learned about the importance of vaccination.

At first it was hard to convince my husband as it costs alot of money, and I had just had a caesarian which costs us alot more money. After I made my case, he finally agreed to it. My mom was not too happy at first as she said I gave Adam too many shots so to her it was like so many chemical going into that little boy's body. So I explained to her what vaccination is all about and now she is the one who encouraged other new parents to give the additional vaccines for their baby.

During vaccination (most but not all), the doctor will insert a weak or dead disease germ into our body. That is how our body will develop its own defence system (antibodies) to protect ourselves against the germs. So, the next time a real strong germ attack, our body can already recognize it and do what needs to be done to shoo them away. Some of these antibodies could remember the germs for the rest of our life. But some, needs a periodical reminder that is why sometimes we have to take the booster shot.

So, what additional vaccines can you get for your child(ren)? I am not qualified to recommend them to you but these are the additional vaccines we took for our little Adam:

1) Rotarix (Rotavirus vaccine) - at 2, 4, 6 months. It helps to fight Rotavirus, the main cause for severe diarrhea in babies.

2) Prevenar (Pneumococcal vaccine) - at 7, 8, 10 months. If your child is above 1 year, only 2 shots are needed. It helps to fight among others, pneumonia and meningitis. I took this vaccine because each time Adam had flu and cough, he will also gets ear infection apart from the high fever. Upon consulting with our local doctor, she advised us to take the vaccine as Pneumococcus is one of the common bacteria that causes ear infection in young children. So we took the chance hoping to kill 2 birds in one stone. Alhamdulillah, after taking the vaccine, Adam did not have ear infection anymore. So we did kill 2 birds in one stone :)

3) Flu Shot (Influenza Vaccine) - to be taken once a year. My colleague told me that she sent her kids for flu shot every year. At that point of time I was not aware of its effectiveness. We took this shot because Adam was about to go back to my parents' place and my brother was a doctor in the H1N1 ward at that time. So, as a precaution we took the shot. Prior to that, Adam had flu that leads to cough and fever almost every other month. After the shot, he had flu only twice. The first one affected the whole family so it might not be the common seasonal flu and the second time, the colour of the mucus was clear and it went away after 2 days without affecting Adam much. I will definitely continue to get him the annual flu shot.

Hope my experience could help you in making the decision whether or not to spend the extra money on vaccination. But of course, consult your doctor first :)

Random Thoughts

This morning, hubby greeted me with a tough question..
"If you are in a labor and I had to chose between you and baby, whom should I pick?"
"Whatt??!" I was dumbfounded. I had never given this a thought before.
Hubby said it was just a random thought. And he said he would pick the baby.
"Why?"
"So that you can die as a shaheed and will go straight to heaven" said husband with a smile.
"Kalau x belum tentu lagi masuk syurga sebab ayang degil" added him with a bigger smile. Chet!
"But if I were to have the option to die as a shaheed, I will chose it" he added with a serious note.

I hope we would never have to face this. Call me selfish but frankly, my first thought was for him to pick me. I could give birth to more babies if that is what we want. And even if we cannot have a child anymore after that, we already have Adam. And what if we already have a few children who are still very small and need their Mommy. Who would take care of them? Of course my family will give their full support and hubby could even get them a new mommy but it won't be the same right? The sadness and emotional impact on them for losing their Mommy might not be cured forever. And it could impacted more lives than it would be if the baby is the one who sacrifice for his/her Mommy. I mean, we barely know the baby.

Having said these, I haven't really make up my mind. What if I could never get rid of the guilt that will haunt me forever for being so selfish? I don't think I have the heart to live with that. It will eat me alive. Let us just pray I (and all of us) would never have to make this kind of decision.

On another note, have you thought of organ donation? I have been toying with the idea for quite sometime. Initially, just like the above, I was too selfish to give up my organs even if I am already dead. After given it more thought and read all those articles written by Muslim scholars, I felt more open to the idea. As what we read in the media, even if I have the donor card, my family are the ones who own my body upon my death. So, I need to get their blessings first.

Couple of months back, I popped the question to hubby. What does he think about organ donation? He is positive about it and has no objection to it. I haven't bring up the subject to my parents though.

Though it has been quite some time since I first thought about this, I haven't had the time (or courage) to actually go and sign up for it. Let us make this as one of my to-do list this year so by end of the year, my name would be written on one of this:

So what do you think of both issues?

P/s: For more information on organ donation in Malaysia, the process and the likes, you can visit Malaysian Society of Transplantation website.

Project Adam 365 : 2010

Finally! After much work and effort from everybody in my family, Project Adam 365 is finally completed. I wanna thank everybody including those who commented and like the photos in my FB because all of you has given me the strength and courage to complete it. When people asked if I want to continue in 2011, without any doubt I said no. It was not easy. Especially when I send Adam back to my hometown. I have to trouble everybody to ensure they take a photo of Adam and send it to me. Having said that, I would want to take the challenge for my next child(ren) because at the end of the day, the compilation of photos showed how your child has grown throughout the year.

To my little Adam, I hope you would understand how much you mean to me and our family. Everybody played their part to ensure our little gift for you would be a reality. You made it easy for us with all your candid action and creative act in exploring the world. You inspired us by your positive atttitude and determination in learning new things. I wish you would stay as my little baby forever :) I love you son..

~ The Decision ~

Last night, in my Dale Carnegie Course class, we were asked to share the defining moment in our lives. Well, 5 months ago, I made a decision that has made an abrupt change to my life.

5 months ago, I was working in the Corporate & Investment Banking division of one of the largest Islamic Bank in the world. I really love what I was doing. My day to day job included analysing the financial standing of our clients. From time to time I had to travel for site visits either locally or abroad. The industry was very competitive I would say. We have to ensure we work very fast to be able to close the deal. The datelines for new tasks were always yesterday! Not only my day at work was tiring, I also had to endure 2 hours of traffic every morning and another 2 hours in the evening.

The stress at work and the stress from the traffic really drained my energy. To be able to reach office at 8.30am, I had to leave at 6.30 am. I usually reached home at 8pm earliest. Maybe on some good days I could reach home at 7.30 pm. But on busy days, I might only leave office at midnight. When I reached home, I was already too tired to cook or play with my son. All I wanted was just a good rest and sleep. Day by day, I became more cranky and grumpier. I snapped at my husband and I scolded my son on a daily basis.

One day, it dawned on me that my life was miserable. All the money I earned meant nothing. I rarely see my friends anymore. Or more like I never see my friends anymore. I was mean at home. So, I started asking myself, is this what I want? Is this how I want to grow my son? By scolding and scream at him every single day? For how long? Do I want to be like my bosses who are always in the office? And my answers to all the questions were NO.

This incident happened on a Friday. On the very next Monday, I tendered my 3 months notice. My bosses were surprised. My colleagues were shocked. They did not expect this from me. In the beginning, of course I had doubts. Was I making the right decision? What if I don't like my new job? What if I miss analysing the financials? How about my salary? Would I still be able to sustain my lifestyle? But I brushed all the questions off. I told myself, this is something I had to do and sacrifice for the better of my family.

After my 3 months notice ended, I spent half a month 24 7 with my son. Our relationship grew stronger. I cooked for him, I played with him, I sang and danced with him. It was the greatest 2 weeks of my life.

On 1st October, I started my new job in Damansara. Though the distance to my new office is only 4km less than my old bank, the traffic is great! Even if I leave the house at 8 am, I could still reach my office on time and on some lucky days, I could even have a quick breakfast with my colleagues first before work starts. The workload is just nice. As I am working in a different industry, I found it not as stressing as analysing the financials of a company and worrying whether the client could meet its financial obligations. In the evening, if I leave my office at 5.30pm sharp, I would be able to reach home before 6.30 pm.

I now have time to walk my son to the playground and spend quality time with him. After maghrib, I will cook for my husband. With constant practice, I think my cooking skill has improved tremendously. Though of course there is still huge room for improvement.  Last weekend, my husband told me that he has noticed the change in me. I am a nicer person now. I am not as grumpy and cranky as I was a couple of months back. I am glad he noticed it and mentioned it to me. That has really made my day..

I know I am a happier person now. So, I guess I made the right decision after all.

Oh, and this is Adam's latest picture. Isn't he very tall?

Father Forgets

As I was reading Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People, I stumbled accross this story:

FATHER FORGETS

W. Livingston Larned

condensed as in "Readers Digest"

Listen, son: I am saying this as you lie asleep, one little paw crumpled under your cheek and the blond curls stickily wet on your damp forehead. I have stolen into your room alone. Just a few minutes ago, as I sat reading my paper in the library, a stifling wave of remorse swept over me. Guiltily I came to your bedside.

There are the things I was thinking, son: I had been cross to you. I scolded you as you were dressing for school because you gave your face merely a dab with a towel. I took you to task for not cleaning your shoes. I called out angrily when you threw some of your things on the floor.

At breakfast I found fault, too. You spilled things. You gulped down your food. You put your elbows on the table. You spread butter too thick on your bread. And as you started off to play and I made for my train, you turned and waved a hand and called, "Goodbye, Daddy!" and I frowned, and said in reply, "Hold your shoulders back!"

Then it began all over again in the late afternoon. As I came up the road I spied you, down on your knees, playing marbles. There were holes in your stockings. I humiliated you before your boyfriends by marching you ahead of me to the house. Stockings were expensive-and if you had to buy them you would be more careful! Imagine that, son, from a father!

Do you remember, later, when I was reading in the library, how you came in timidly, with a sort of hurt look in your eyes? When I glanced up over my paper, impatient at the interruption, you hesitated at the door. "What is it you want?" I snapped.
You said nothing, but ran across in one tempestuous plunge, and threw your arms around my neck and kissed me, and your small arms tightened with an affection that God had set blooming in your heart and which even neglect could not wither. And then you were gone, pattering up the stairs.

Well, son, it was shortly afterwards that my paper slipped from my hands and a terrible sickening fear came over me. What has habit been doing to me? The habit of finding fault, of reprimanding-this was my reward to you for being a boy. It was not that I did not love you; it was that I expected too much of youth. I was measuring you by the yardstick of my own years.

And there was so much that was good and fine and true in your character. The little heart of you was as big as the dawn itself over the wide hills. This was shown by your spontaneous impulse to rush in and kiss me good night. Nothing else matters tonight, son. I have come to your bedside in the darkness, and I have knelt there, ashamed!

It is feeble atonement; I know you would not understand these things if I told them to you during your waking hours. But tomorrow I will be a real daddy! I will chum with you, and suffer when you suffer, and laugh when you laugh. I will bite my tongue when impatient words come. I will keep saying as if it were a ritual: "He is nothing but a boy-a little boy!"

I am afraid I have visualised you as a man. Yet as I see you now, son, crumpled and weary in your cot, I see that you are still a baby. Yesterday you were in your mother's arms, your head on her shoulder. I have asked too much, too much, yet given too little of myself. Promise me, as I teach you to have the manners of a man, that you will remind me how to have the loving spirit of a child.
Reading it reminds me of my little Adam. I am guilty of the same things. I often raised my voice to get him out of the kitchen, scold him when he did not follow what I asked him to do, all when he's only a little boy. My little baby. He did not even understand a word I was saying. And after all that, he would still come and kiss my cheek.

Sorry Adam, mommy promise, mommy won't raise mommy's voice to you anymore. No matter how tired mommy is, or how hard mommmy's day was, it has nothing to do with you. When mommy is home with you, mommy has to be your mom and treat you like how a son need to be treated; with gentle and love. Lots and lots of love. Sorry sayang..

~family~

Last night we went for Iftar at Mak's place (hubby's mom). Initially, the plan was for me n my SIL to go and cook there. But it was already late when we reached mak's house so we ended up just helping mak in the kitchen. She cooked really fast and it was yummy! She cooked sambal sotong, asam pedas, sup su'un, sawi goreng and telur dadar in less than an hour.. She didn't even taste it since she was fasting but it turns out perfect. When would I ever be able to cook like that.. I think if it was me who is cooking all the dishes, I need to start cooking at 2pm to be able to get all done before Maghrib.. Sigh~ Maybe next year my resolution should include taking up cooking class :)

After the dinner, me, Yana and Alang played Jenga. It has been ages since I last played Jenga. Used to be very good at it when I played against my siblings ages ago... When Hubby and Angah joined the game, Yana and me just watched the siblings played. It reminds me of the old time when my siblings and I used to play together over games like Jenga, Crocodile Dentist, Happy Family, Old Maid, Monopoly, Shahiba, Snap, UNO, Snakes & Ladder and so much more. It was so much fun back then.. We laughed, we teased, we supported each other and we just enjoyed the companian.

Now that Hafidz and me are already married and Syah and Adik still in Uni, we never had time to play these simple games anymore. Every time we are home, there will always be a good show on TV, or the boys are playing PS2, or some of us are online, or we just simply lazing around... Now that the family has grown bigger with hubby, Salina and Adam, I think it would be fun to start playing the games again and strengthen our bonds while we are at it. So friends, maybe this Raya, while having your lemang and ketupat, you can take out any of the board or card games and play with your family. It might turns your Raya into one of your best Raya ever :)

Will post some of the pics later..

Happy 1st Birthday Adam Harris

Hey my lil'one,
You are ONE today,
Sorry Mommy and Daddy couldn't be there with you,
to celeberate the day God sent you to us..

Hey my lil'one,
This one year had been a blast,
Your cute antics has been the source of our joy,
Your toothless grin has cured our tiring day..
Hey my lil'one,
In this one year,
You have shown us the strong character that you are,
Making sure you get what you want,
And never been forced to do things againts your wish..

Hey my lil'one,
Sorry that some part of the year,
We had to leave you at Nanny's,
Coz that seems the best place for you to be,
This does not mean we do not love you,
Instead this is how much we love you,
We'd rather be apart from you,
Then let you be in an unhealthy environment..

Hey my lil'one,
I wish you all the happiness in the world,
I wish you will get all the nicest things in the world,
I wish you will be able to fulfill your dreams,
and I wish you live your life to the fullest..

Coz my lil'one,
We only want the best for you,
Coz you are our darling son,
Happy first birthday..
Mommy and Daddy love you..

~Updates~

Hola! I am back! Actually banyak sangat keje nie... tapi xde mood sangat nak buat.. have been slacking off since yesterday :p Here goes:

1. Adam was hospitalized
Adam was hospitalized for a week for acute bronchitis. A follow up check done a week later showed that the phlegm was back without the nebulizer. So, Adam had to use inhaler (ventolin and ape tah lagi satu) at home :( As Adam is a big boy now (weighing 10.5kg and 80cm tall), we really had to wrestle with him whenever it's time for the inhaler.. huhuhu.. Anyway, here are some of Adam's pics in the hospital..

2. Adam can walk!
Just a few steps though. The most he walked that I have seen was 7 steps. So, I guess Annie won't have the chance to watch Adam crawling around. By the time you are back in end July, I bet Adam is already running around the house! ;p (Tue la sape suruh niat nak kick Adam's ass masa dia merangkak.. sebab tu Tuhan bagi Adam jalan cepat2 :p)

3. Hafidz is getting married!
Hafidz is getting married in end of July. Kain nak buat baju melayu Adam dah beli (supaya sama with the whole family) tapi x tau mana nak tempah.. Tadi call ada this one shop in Wisma Yakin tapi mak aih nak tempah baju Melayu Adam yang 1 meter je kain tu pun RM70 kalau jahit mesin kat leher and RM80 kalau nak tikam leher. Mahalnya! Dah nak sama mahal dengan jahit baju Mr Hubby. Anyone knows anywhere yang boleh tempah at reasonable rate? Around RM30 ke.. reasonable la kan?

4. Maid
We have a maid. Actually maid nie replacement. The previous one was sent home coz she has a fibroid. Maid baru ni alhamdulillah la kerja bagus.. Pandai layan Adam.. Masak pun OK.. Tapi masalahnya, dia mintak x potong gaji. Agent dia kat Indonesia pulak kata OK. Aishh.. Agreement with my Agent potong 3 bulan. Duit dah banyak bayar kat agent. So, discuss dengan dia, dia setujula potong 3 bulan, tapi bagi dia half a month gaji for 6 months. Sekali dia ckp gaji RM500 kan? WTF! My agent kata RM450 je. Dia kata dia dulu dah mintak dgn agent dia nak RM500. Kalau dia tau RM450 dia x mau datang. So what should I do now? Bila ckp with my agent, dia kata hantar balik aje. Amik yang lain. Sbb pandai demand mcm ni susah. She has some points. Tapi so far tengok this maid can be trusted. Keje pun ok. Should I relent and give her the additional RM50 per month? Or should I follow the agent's advice and send her back.. huhuhuh.. my worries nanti replacement entah mcm mana pulak.. boleh buat keje ke x.. boleh jaga Adam ke x.. huhuhuhu.. pening..

5. Groceries shopping
I wonder what is the average groceries expenditure for a family with 3 adults and a baby at home. Hmmmm.. all the while Mr Hubby n me x pernah buat budget properly for this. So, from 23/5 hari tu, I started to collect the groceries bill and it came up to quite a huge sum and it wasn't even 23/6 yet! The bulk of the bill went to Adam's necessities actually. His milk and diapers alone were already half of the amount spent so far. With the economics and our own tight cash flow, maybe we should start to skim down some of the stuff that we used to spend on. Cut the luxuries and stick to the necessities. Hmmm.. I guess being a parent is not as simple as I thought it would be. Having a child took up a lot of your resources - energy, time, money. But to be able to see your son smiles at you when he wakes up in the morning, to have him runs (or crawls) to you as fast as he could when he is scared, to feel him snuggling to you when he wants to sleep, every penny spent, every energy drained and every second passed are worth it. Seriously, a child is the best gift one could ever have. :D
