Review on Adam's stuff - Part 2

We meet again in Part 2.

'Lamaze' Zebra Rattle

This pic was taken when Adam was almost 2 months. Why the inverted comma? Because I am not really sure if it is a real Lamaze toy or not. I bought it at a very small store in K.Terengganu for RM9.90 if I am not mistaken. When I tried to google for the picture, could not find it in Lamaze website but found it in 1 Thailand website and in 1 local online shop. The online shop is selling it for RM29.90.

Anyway, the zebra's legs has magnetic ends. So it could clasp together when I put it around Adams's leg. I love it because it helps Adam to exercise his tummy, neck, arm and leg. He will try to kick it off his leg and then he will try to lift his head to see what was that stupid thing Mommy put at his leg and after a few days, I noticed he tried to grab it using his hand. I believe small babies should have some exercise to strengthen their muscles instead of just lying around and sleep :)

Playgym

I can't recall what brand is this playgym but I remember buying it for less than RM60 at Giant. I personally feels that every baby deserves a playgym. It allows them to exercise their legs and hands while lying on their back and exercise their neck and hand muscle when they are on their tummy. Don't worry of SID. Just make sure you are not sleeping while they are playing on their tummy. From my experience, Adam turned his head just a few minute after I put him on his tummy for the first time (he was 9 days old).

Adam was about 3 months in this picture. If your child seems to be bored with his/her playgym, just buy those dangling toys and add on to your existing ones and you will have a new set of friends for your little one :) I know in the market there are alot of playgym ranging from RM50 to RM300. The trick is, find one that is washable and "modifieable" (the toys can be rearranged or you can add more toys)

Lamaze Spin and Explore Garden Gym

This is one of my favourite! Saw it at an online shop and was drooling over it for a few days before I click the 'buy' button. Was contemplating at first because it was above RM100 and what if Adam doesn't like it? Initially, Adam was not a fan of the spinning ladybird. He will cry every time I tried to put him on it. After a while, he got used to it and will spin around the mat playing with all the little toys attached to it.

You can also remove the spinning ladybird and put your baby right on top of the mat. Adam loves the mirror attached to the mat. And of course, this mat and the cover for the spinning ladybird are washable! If you haven't have one, and your baby is still small, go and get it! :) Here is the top view of the gym.

Baby Cot Mobile

Ours was a present from a family friend I guess. The original video has Adam 'talking' to the bears for more than 8 minutes! That is long enough for me to change his diaper and clothes. I found cot mobile a big help especially when you need to change baby diaper. Looking at the material I bet it was not that expensive but we love it! It's just a simple cot mobile with bears making a circle and a simple musical background. Recently, my mom and I tried to look for something simple like this but all those in Toys R Us are wayyyyy above RM100. If you found one like this at less than RM100, do give me a buzz as my sister in law is looking for one.

bebePOD plus

I can still recall this moment. Adam was trying hard to pull off the toy from the tray. I love this bebePOD as it allows baby to sit wayyy before they can sit on their own. When Adam was bigger and started eating solid food, this bebePOD helps to make sure Adam sit still throughout his meal. Kalau tak, sibukla nak merangkak sana sini. Why I chose this over Bumbo Seat? Because it is much much much softer and comfortable compared to Bumbo Seat. You can either attach the toy to the tray, or just have the tray, or you can just take off the tray. BebePOD comes in 3 different colours.

For me, the downside is its price. You can almost buy 2 bumbo seat with the price of 1 bebePOD plus. The choice is yours :)

Happy Safari Lion Mirror

Adam loves this mirror! As you might have already known, babies looove mirror! Adam still plays with this mirror till today! I was lucky I found this on sale at Mothercare. As much as Adam loves it, I don't think I would pay for its original price. Wayy to pricey for a mirror :) Maybe if I live in UK and earn in pound, than this lion is worth the price :)

Guess that would be all for today. Will do some more if I have the time :)

Review on Adam's stuff - Part 1

As I mentioned in my previous post, dah lama giler I made a promise to my friend to write a review on some of Adam's toys. Tapi asyik tangguh2 sampai semua toys ni dah masuk storeroom dah pun :) Better late than nothing! :D

Lamaze Gardenbug Wrist Rattle and Foot Finder Set and Nuby Teething Blankie Toy - Monkey

Adam and his wrist rattle and monkey blankie

I think Adam was a week shy of his 3 months birthday in this picture. I really love these two stuff.
This blankie helped Adam with his gripping. Masa mula2 bagi tu Adam tak pandai pegang lagi. Tapi sebab blankie ni kan nipis so sangat senang dia pegang and of course masuk mulut lah kan.. I noticed lepas ada blankie ni lah Adam started to grip better. The best part is sangat senang nak basuh! Masuk je washing machine :) So sentiasa bersih for your lil baby :)
These wrist rattle and feer finder pun sangat bes! Sebab babies kan sentiasa gerak-gerakkan kaki and tangan dia tana arah tujuan. So, bisinglah rattle tu and dia akan cari-cari. Helped me to keep Adam occupied if I had other things to do.

Owh and both of these adalah less than RM100. Harga sebenar tak ingat tapi affordable lah.. And banyak lagi brand lain di pasaran.. Yang penting boleh keep baby occupied :)

Alamak, lambat dah nak pegi meeting. To be continued.... :)

Langkawi

I am helping a cousin to organize a family trip to Langkawi this CNY. There will be around 40 of us I guess. We were thinking of chartering a bus to Kuala Kedah, leave the bus there and take a ferry to Langkawi. In Langkawi we were thinking of renting a few 10 seaters to bring us around. Then, we will take the same bus back to KL.

We have yet to decide on the accomodation as well. As for the programmes, we might have to divide ourseleves into a few groups as there are shoppaholic, avid golfer, adventure seeker, nature lover and parents with baby among us.

I would greatly appreciate if you could give us some advice, tips or any recommendation on anything at all with regards to the trip to ensure our trip will be the greatest trip ever! Thanks!

Dibo Cake

I owe this entry to the kind lady who has been kind enough to accept my last minute request for the Dibo cake. The lady I was taklking about is Ms Faith of My Sugar Creations. She has been asking me for the feedback of her cake but I have yet to answer her.

Actually, I have been a frequent visitor to her blog to stalk on her work for quite some time. I first chance upon her blog when I was looking for a cake to celebrate my father's birthday and found the most beautiful golf themed cake I've ever seen.

Anyway, the Dibo cake we ordered was Moist Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Garnache. It was marvelous! It was not so sweet and the taste is just great! After the party, I heated some of the cake with the microwave and eat it with vanilla ice cream. It reminds me of the cake at Chillis.. or even better!

Even better, my son recognized Dibo immediately and started dancing! The moment worth every single cent spent on the cake :)

Thanks Faith for the lovely cake and I can assure you, for the rest of the birthdays, I will surely find you :p

Feeding Bottles

During a recent visit to a cousin's house, Adam saw my cousin's daughter, Annysa, drank her milk from an elmo bottle. Right away he danced and tried to talk to the bottle. As Annysa was happily enjoying her milk while lying on the mattress, suddenly, Adam snatched the bottle and drank the milk right away though he had just finished his bottle a few minutes before. Though I was not there (Adam went there with Daddy), I could imagine why Adam did what he did. His bottle is soooooooooooooo boring!!! All the while, I only bought Avent bottles as it helps to avoid colics among babies.

Considering he is already 15 months and is eating almost everything, I don't think colic is an issue anymore. So, I decided to buy him new types of bottles and he LOVED them!

The only thing is, the teats doesn't last.. In less than 2 weeks, one of the teats is already torn. I wish the fancy bottles are available in wide neck versions so I could just use Avent teats which are really good and could last for quite some time. I am also clueless on the sizing of the holes and the teats materials. I saw some came in the yellowish colour and looks like it is thicker.. Anyone can recommend me a good teat?

Sale! - Pampers Comfort

Last weekend, we went to Tesco Extra to get Adam's diapers. Unfortunately, Adam's usual brand was out of stock. So, Mr Hubby and me decided to purchase Pampers Comfort thinking that it must be okay since it's quite a well known brand.

Little that we know that some baby bums are just allergic to certain brand of diapers.. And price or brand doesn't even matter! Take Adam's cousin for example. He has tried Mami Poko, Huggies and all the other expensive range of other diaper brands but they just don't suit his cute little bum :p He can only wears Drypers.. No offence to Drypers fans.. I am just trying to emphasize on the pricing not the quality..

Anyway, it turns out Pampers Comfort is not suitable for our little Dadam. So, to all parents out there who swears on Pampers Comfort (Size L), you are most welcome to buy them at a discounted price. We have 2 of the 72pcs pack. One is still unopened while the other one we have used a few pcs. I am not going to mail it or anything so I would only sell to you if it is economically viable to pass you the diapers :D Any taker?

~ the quest has ended ~

For the past few weeks, I have been looking for this in every store. From Giant to Cold Storage to M&S. But I could not find it. It all began a couple of weeks back when I found a packet with 5 sachets of this at my mom's place. Tried one and loving it! I asked my mom where did she buy it but she could not remember. So I brought the rest of the sachets with me back to KL hoping I could find it in KL. The writing on the packet says that it is made in Indonesia. Only last night did I thought of asking my sister who is studying in Malang, Surabaya. And to my delight, she knows the brand! She's going to bring it back to me when she come home end of next month. Yippeeeeeeeee!!!!

D Day

No, the baby is not here yet! That has been my line instead of the usual Hello when I answered any calls today. Woke up early this morning for my appointment with Dr Aziz, my gynea. For the first time ever, we reached the clinic at 8ish ;p After the pelvic exam, Dr Aziz told us that my cervix is softer than last 2 weeks but the baby doesn't seem to engage yet. So, he suggested for me to go for induction on Monday night and hopefully the baby would come out on Tuesday morning. Praying hard that all goes well and I do not need to have a C-sect.

After a late breakfast, my family and I went to the Curve. It was raining and the traffic was really bad. Had a lousy lunch at Marche. My lamb chop was almost burnt while Syah's lamb chop was still bleeding. Urghh.. Then we went to Ikea and back to the Curve. Abah wanted to restock his cigars but there was no cigar shop around so we went to KLCC and had another round of walkathon. Huhuhuhu.. With the amount of walk I had today, the baby should have come out! But nooooo.. He still insisted to stay longer.. Huuhuhu... Come on baby! Come out!!!!

Pray for me guys!

p/s: Thanx Aunty Ana n Cik Man for the baby rocker! We love it! It matches our car seat n stroller :p

Baby stuff is almost complete :p

Woke up early this morning to wash all of baby's clothes, towels, bed sheet etc. Had to start packing the hospital bag as I am now in my 36th week and according to my gynea, the baby might come out around mid of august. I had prepared and bought almost all of the things. Enjoyed myself ripping off the plastic bags and pulling off the tags from the baby stuff. Can't wait for baby to come and wear all these!

My dad came to KL today to attend one of our relative's wedding. I was on my way home when he called me and asked me to pick the stuff he bought me at Mothercare KLCC. Yipppeeeee! These are the things that daddy bought me. I love my daddy!!!!!

a little update on...

... baby shopping

It's the Mega Sales!! Went to Sogo's child department for the first time today. I was so amazed with the wide selections they have there. From the cheapest thing to the most chic and expensive item, you name it and they will have it.. Managed to get most of the small things already. What is left to buy now are the bigger (and expensive of course) things and the not-so-urgent things:

1. Car Seat
2. Stroller
3. Baby Cot/Playpen (could not decide on which to buy yet)
4. Baby Carrier
5. Mattress + pillow + crib set for #3
6. Thermal Bag
7. Cooler Bag
8. Bouncing Cradle
9. Baby bath thermometer
10. Bath sponge
11. Baby binder

Any sponsor? :p

... my best friend's wedding

My dearest friend, Dinna Geraldine Ramlan got married to Mohd Redzuan Abdul Rahman last 4th of July. It was such a beautiful and joyous ceremony. Dinna was one of my closest buddy in my first year in Desa Tun. Wish her and Duan a very happy life together :)

... my baby bump

I am now in my 33rd week and my tummy looks like it's gonna explode anytime! :p What worries me now is that my weight does not seem to increase much since I last saw my Gynea last week. With the doctor telling me I might deliver early in August and my mom saying that your weight is going to reduce slightly when it's time to deliver, I am scared! I can't wait to see our baby but the tohught of the delivery really scares me.. huhuhuhuhu....

... made of honour turned hulk

After a stroll at Tasik Shah Alam, hubby and me decided to catch a movie at Bukit Raja. We reached there at about 9pm so we headed straight to the TGV to buy the ticket. The most logical choice with our timing was Made of Honour that was showing at 9.50pm. Great! We thought. So we can have our dinner first and would be just in time to watch the movie. I rushed my dinner and did not really enjoy the yummylicous Chocolate Mud Pie with Ice Cream :( We reached TGV at 9.53pm. Hubby showed our ticket to the cinema boy and he brought us to the hall. Upon reaching the hall, I felt a bit weird coz he asked us to sit at the back seat instead of our designated seat. Anyway, we were so happy that the show has not started and they were showing some trailer to a movie. Minutes passed by and it was already 10pm yet the trailer hasn't stopped. Then only we realised we were in the wrong hall! Urghh.. But hubby did not want to go out. He said any show is fine since many good shows are showing. Maybe we are watching Wanted :p After another 5 minutes only we realised it was Incredible Hulk. I was so dissappointed coz I had already set my mind to watch a romantic commedy but had to endure watching fast action movie instead :( After 1.5 hours, the show ended. That means we were half an hour late! We should have get out when we first realized that we are not at the right cinema.. sighh~~

... my new diaper bag!

My parents just got back from attending my brother's convocation and they bought me this diaper bag! I love it sooooooo much! I had been looking around for a nice diaper bag and to my dissappointment, most of the diaper bags sold in Malaysia are with cartoon print on it and they looked so ugly :( I found one that I like in www.diaperbags.com but they do not ship to Malaysia. So thanks Ibu and Abah for this beautiful bag. Love you! xoxo!
